Key Account Manager (m/w)

As a Key Account Manager (m/w), you are part of the sales team and report to the Direct Sales manager. The team is responsible for all sales of gas, power and energy services in Belgium and abroad to B2B customers, main focus on SME, multisites, industry, public authorities.

Your function

The Key Account Manager (m/w) sells energy products and related services to existing and new customers in a business-to-business environment (industries-multisites-specific market segments). He/she tries to achieve the highest level of confidence and customer satisfaction by responding to the customer needs. He/she creates value both for the customer and for Total Gas & Power Belgium by establishing a real - long term – relationship management in a complex environment.


  • You manage the customer portfolio in the assigned B2B segments/regions
  • You gain new business for specific segment(s), build own network and make necessary contacts by active prospecting
  • You build relationship for (new) customers by cross-, renewal- and upsell activities (Total multi-energy services)
  • You stay open minded and respond to all customer requirements and keep the quality image of Total Gas & Power Belgium high
  • You ensure customer satisfaction by offering the right proposition to each type of client (pricing, product, services, invoicing, market insights,…), pro-active approach
  • You report accurately on activities and market positioning of the company
  • You build a thorough knowledge of the market, products and services of the company and its competitors by self-study, sales visits and participation to seminars/webinars/events
  • You show empathy to address to right stakeholders (both internal & external)
  • You contribute to the achievement of the group targets
  • You make presentations and analysis and present them to stakeholders
  • You collect best practice and share it within the team / other departments
  • You are innovative in your segment and give input for new products/services/projects

Your profile

  • Master degree or minimum 4 year experience in a commercial B2B sales environment. Experience in the energy sector or in a specific Key account segment is a plus (> 2 years)
  • You have a very good knowledge of Dutch or French and English
  • You demonstrate excellent communication & negotiating skills in sales projects
  • You have a good knowledge of MS Office packages, good knowledge of Excel and Powerpoint is a must
  • You are creative, assertive and result-oriented with initiative towards innovative solutions/ideas (entrepreneurial spirit)
  • Flexible and stress-resistant, you work well in a continuously changing environment
  • You are eager to learn
  • You are analytical and you understand quickly figures and issues, as well as their (commercial) impact
  • You are a good organizer and planner with time management skills, you formalize actions and to their follow-up/reporting (CRM, salesforce,…)
  • You have a goals and results oriented behavior to achieve targets on time, organizer
  • You act as a teamplayer
  • Relation skills and networking are essential, in specific segments are a plus
  • You are amiliar with complex customer decision processes and high customer demands
  • Excellent customer’s experience is your first priority, every day
